Installation Guide

Installing Alcemi is effortless and fully automated. Follow the steps below to get set up in just a few minutes.

Simply navigate to the Shopify App Store listing and install the app. If you have more than one store, select the store for which you want to install Alcemi from the dropdown list.

If you are unable to install Alcemi, make sure you are accessing the Shopify App Store from a user account that has permissions to authorize and manage apps.

Permissions

During installation, you’ll be asked to grant Alcemi access to certain parts of your Shopify store. These permissions allow Alcemi to:

• Recommend products from your catalog
• Answer customer questions about their orders
• Let shoppers add items directly to their cart through the AI agent
• Access policy pages so the agent can provide instant answers about returns, shipping, and other store policies.

Alcemi does not modify your theme — it works through a storefront chat overlay and a Theme App Extension. For more information on how your data is used, view our Terms of Service.

Plans & Pricing

All Alcemi plans come with a 14-day free trial. Our plans are constructed to affordably scale with your business and are based on usage (i.e., monthly interactions your customers make with Alcemi Shopping Agent). Once you’ve installed Alcemi, pick the plan that fits your business needs. For more information on the details of each subscription tier, visit our pricing page.

Sync Your Products

Before the agent can go live, it needs to learn your catalog. Navigate to the Customization page in your Admin Panel and start the Product Search Sync. This is a required step before the app can start recommending products. You can read more about how syncing works in the Product Search Sync guide.

Enable the Theme App Extension

To display Alcemi’s AI shopping agent on your storefront, you’ll need to enable the Theme App Extension. This adds the chat overlay to your theme without requiring any manual code edits.

1. In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
2. Find your current theme and click Customize.
3. In the theme editor, open the App embeds or App blocks panel (depending on your theme).
4. Look for Alcemi AI Shopping Agent in the list of available extensions.
5. Toggle the switch to Enable.
6. Click Save to publish your changes.

Tip: If you don’t see the Alcemi option, make sure the app is installed and your user account has permission to edit themes.
